Text and pictures have been kindly provided
by the Museum 40-45, Schaarsbergen, The
Netherlands-, we thank them very much for their contribution.
Part I
August 2006
" A picture, probably of this
car before it was bought by its owner in the Belgian Ardennes. Much thanks
to this website for the picture. As told to the owner this vehicle was used
by the 12th SS 'Hitlerjugend' division in Normandy. Its previous owner
bought it in France. "

" The same
vehicle as it arives at the workshop together with its owner Eef Peters.
He runs a
private museum in Arnhem known as the 'Museum 40-45'.
On
mutual agreement this vehicle is restored, and when restored actual used by
the dutch re-enactment group 'Der Windhund'.
At this moment
the group is also restoring a VW type 82 on site at the museum.
Some more pictures of its
arrival:

Part II
August 2006
The vehicle with its 'deck'
stripped of a very thick layer.

Which revieles its small details
one at a time.

A small welded
plate which hides a bullethole. Its not clear yet whether this vehicle
should be swimming again or the bulletholes should be restored.

" Its engine compartment. As can
be seen there is an entrance for the airfilter which is not used. I'm a bit
confused about it as the engine should be an original. What also can be seen are
the non reïnforced hooks at the back which indicates this should be a vehicle
from the series 7 - 003xxx which was build prior to 1944. This is also confusing
than the owners is convinced that this vehicle should have been build in 1944.
Also interesting is the green colour we meet in this compartment. Probable its
the colour known as seegrün. "

Another problem
is the exhaust. As can be seen on this picture the previous restauration
wasn't done correctly. Also seen is another repaired bullethole.
